Now that the BigXII can have a CG without adding teams, I think it's fine to say at 10. I would even consider adding just BYU since I think they are the only worthy football add outside the P5/ND. This would be like the B1G adding Penn State 25 years ago to go to 11.

I also like your reasoning about staying small in case there's a merger possibility with the Pac12 or some other deal that comes up later. And of course, the AAC isn't going anywhere. Best to lay low and see how those programs and the overall landscape develop.
